Boise Weekly posts Mondo Gaga Online

My very good pals at Boise Weekly are a generous lot. They basically let me play just what I feel. In cartooning this is a rare arrangement. I wanted to give praise to the Weekly and its gallant crew for being gracious, tolerant and pretty shrewd where yours truly is involved. Because I whined no-end you can now viddy Mondo Gaga on BW’s brand spanking new website under the lofty “Opinion” banner.
It will be worth it.

“The Greenman Stories” book

The reception at Basement Gallery was held last night and Bill Cope and I enjoyed having the chance to meet and chit the chat with a lot of you and signing copies of our book “The Greenman Stories”. By the by, there will be something like 10 signed copies available when Basement Gallery re-opens on Thursday. If you aren’t able to make it to the Gallery you can order copies from Amazon.com. Simply type in “The Greenman Stories” in the search box and you’ll be directed to a page where you can order direct from Amazon. If you buy a copy this way, I’ll still be glad to inscribe it for you and ask Bill to do the same. Just contact me through this web address and we’ll arrange it. Anyway, thanks to everyone who showed up last night, especially to those who bought books and art (Don19! Yeah!) and we’ll be posting more art and info next week so check back. Whooohooo!

Flinn/Cope Book and Basement Gallery Show

I’m absolutely giddy to announce that the collaboration between Mr. Bill Cope and myself has resulted in a book and an Art Show. The book is “The Greenman Stories”. It’s 9 short stories illustrated by yours truly. This was another of those long hard slog projects but in this case it wound up being one of those really enjoyable long hard slog projects. We want to share the result of our collaboration with all of you. The original artwork from the book will be shown at Basement Gallery in Boise during the months of September and October. We invite you to join us on First Thursday, September 4th, at that wonderful subterranean space. Bill and I will be there to sign purchased copies ($15.00 at the show) of “The Greenman Stories” but be forewarned- there will be a very limited number of this first printing available. If you miss out on the evening, check back here to special order a copy or find info about how you can order a copy through Amazon.com
Okay, check the site in the next few days for a splashier announcement but for now, YOU ARE INVITED!
Basement Gallery, 928 Main Street, Boise. Reception- Thursday, September 4th 5pm - 9pm. 333-0309 for more info.

HEART

Of course, everything sells at the Flying M auction for S.N.A.P. but I’m glad to have had my joint, “HEART” go for $300.00 this year. It’s a great cause and although I didn’t make it to the “artists only” party this time around I always dig being part of this show.

After the fact, Jack…

I did post a couple of NewNews’s toward the end of last year but because I didn’t like one and felt the other was a little too easily de-code-able, I hit the delete button and lost two others I didn’t mean to get rid of. Anyway,

In the works…

Am currently working on 33 illustrations for two separate books, have 5 commissions for paintings and am doing 3 weeks worth of art for a comic strip to be submitted to the various syndicates this spring… and you wonder why I don’t keep this forum updated.
Oh! Don’t forget to go see and bid on my piece at Flying M Coffee House during this year’s “Valentine for AIDS” - February 7-17. I illustrated the lyrics of the song “Heart” by Rockpile … it’s cool and for a good cause, get ta biddin’!!!
